Lumbini, the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautam Buddha, is located around 22 kilometres from the city and is the primary attraction of Bhairahawa. Lumbini is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular pilgrimage destination for Buddhists from throughout the world. Bhairahawa is a suitable gateway to other renowned Nepalese locations such as Pokhara and Chitwan National Park.
·         Distance: Approximately 260 kilometers by road and 250 kilometers by air.
·         Transportation: The fastest and most convenient way to reach Bhairahawa is by taking a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Gautam Buddha Airport, Bhairahawa. The flight takes around 30-45 minutes by air and 7-8 hours by road.
·         Attractions: Once you arrive in Bhairahawa, you can visit Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, which is located just a few kilometers away. Lumbini is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to numerous ancient Buddhist monasteries, temples, and monuments. Some of the main attractions in Lumbini include the Maya Devi Temple, Ashoka Pillar, and the Sacred Garden.
